Beware of bad advice.

The problem with successful people is they very often forget what they did to become successful, especially entrepreneurs when they talk about how they started their business.

Many, many successful business owners will say it is important that the potential new business do lots of market research, lots of careful planning, and get people to agree that the business idea is sound. Well intentioned, this advice is informed by what the owner has heard from the Small Business Administration and it's many offshoots. Since 1953 the venture capital model for startup,  market research and a written business plan, has become the conventional wisdom.

The problem is, that is just not how most successful businesses got off the ground. If it was we'd be a planned economy and not a market economy.

How do successful businesses start? Check out my little book on Amazon (click here.)

The Kindle edition is just 99-cents, I'll give you $1 back if you buy it and don't find it helpful.
