Who is on your team?

The program Jesus gave us:

Love God

Love your team. (You and the coach are part of the team.)

When we do this we live a Good Life. The 10 commandments are a description of the Good Life, not a prescription.

Love God, love your team, and do what you want.

Loving God and my team helps me see what I want and what good I can do today. I just start, trusting that the little I can do today with God's help is enough. I learn as much as I can from what I do and from others, if needed adjust what I want, then repeat tomorrow. I keep doing this until my True Self (loves God, Loves team) gets what it wants.

General Stanley McChrystal's book Team of Teams and more about how to love your team on today's Startup Show, on Google+ Live Hangouts and YouTube Live Events at 10 a.m. MDT or via a link that goes up here then which also allows you to see a recording of the show anytime after the live broadcast is finished.

"Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor." Luke 6: 42 in The Message translation.

Tonight! Socrates Cafe: Philosophy of Startup & New Thought.

Group chooses final topic, but I'm going to suggest the topic tonight (Sat, 9/15) of the philosophy of Startup and it's connection to New Thought, in honor of Denver Startup Week which is almost here and a book I've been reading about the history of what some call New Thought.

Or you may have a better idea for a topic, if so, great! Bring it and we'll let the group decide, as always. There is never a final, pronounced topic. We want to share our own thinking, informed by our reading, the meeting is not just taking turns reading and reciting to each others the thinking others have written down.

Check out tonight's Socrates Cafe at DU and the other meetings on our Meetup site, where you can also RSVP yes or no if you want to get an invitation to future Socrates Cafes in Colorado. See http://Meetup.com/Colorado-Socrates-Cafe-Society or call (303)861-1447 with any questions.

Our mission and purpose:

The mission of your new, free Small Business Chamber of Commerce (no dues or fees for membership, we intend to be self-supporting through fully disclosed voluntary contributions so the help we provide is available to everyone) is to strengthen the voice of the grassroots in business and politics.

We cooperate with local chambers and other groups to organize low cost/ no cost IDEA Startup Workshops, Franklin Circles (Peer Advisory Groups), and Root & Branch Recovery Faith Sharing Groups.

Our purpose is to do Good Work and to help others do Good Work, too. Good Work provides: 1) useful products and services for customers, and 2) for all involved in the business (owners, employees, and suppliers) an adequate income and an opportunity for learning and personal growth, all for the greater glory of our God as we each understand God.

Want to be guest on Startup Show?

To: All who want to be on the Startup Show.

Google+ Suggests that for each show we:

✓ Make sure all participants have set up a Google account, with a Google+ profile, and have uploaded a profile photo. ✓ Make sure all participants have added you to their Circles, and you have added them. ✓ Make sure your participants who aren’t using the Chrome browser download and install the Hangouts plugin before the broadcast. ✓ Microphone quality is also important for voice clarity -- if they’re using the default microphone on an old computer, they may need to upgrade and use an external microphone instead. ✓ The biggest distraction in a Hangout On Air is background noise and feedback. Ask all participants to use headphones or earbuds. For more see http://plus.google.com

Once you have met these requirements, call us and leave a complete message about who you are and why you think those who watch The Startup Show would be interested in what you have to say. We are primarily interested in scheduling people who have started a business who are willing to share their experience. Call us at (303)861-1447
